Pastor's Punch Lines (Part 1)
(Now Split-Second Sermons)
Jacquelyn Heasley has a gift of putting into one line what it takes others an entire article to say. Sometimes a handful of words planted in the heart changes a life. If one catches you, write it on a sticky note, place it where you can frequently see it and let it be planted in your being.
Plant a word in the mind, and you will reap an act.
Plant the act and you will reap a habit.
Plant a habit and you will reap a character.
Plant a character and you will reap a nature.
Plant a nature and you will reap a destiny.

FEAR COMES FROM AN ADAMIC NATURE---FAITH COMES FROM A CHRIST NATURE
Use your ministry to build people, not people to build your ministry.
Your giving should not be to get, but to say “I have.”
A man will act out what he believes himself to be
GOD NEVER TAKES AWAY ANYTHING THAT HE DOESN'T REPLACE WITH HIMSELF.
The man, full of himself, can never proclaim the Christ who emptied Himself.
Mercy allows you to continue on in sin; grace empowers you to overcome it.
It’s one thing not to sin---it’s another not to want to!
Abel’s blood cries out “vengeance”---Jesus’ blood cries out “mercy”.
YOUR INHERITANCE ISN'T HEAVEN, BUT HE LIVES THERE.
The Resurrection is a person—not an event.
If you will be moved by men’s criticism, you will be moved by their praise---be dead to both!
If you teach men that God is the source of their pleasure and sin is the source of their pain, they will run to God and away from sin.
In Christ you don't do good to earn favor---you do good because of your new nature.
WHAT THE APOSTLE PAUL CALLED BEING THE CHIEFEST OF SINNERS WAS THINKING THE LAW WAS THE MARK.
