Pastor's Punch Lines (Part 2)

(Now called "Split-Second Sermons")

Jacquelyn K. Heasley, Edited by Gary Amirault

Jackie has a gift for packing into one sentence what is not contained in full books. From time to time I take a few sticks of these dynamite sentences and package them together hopefully to blow up some religious idols, concepts, traditions contained in our hearts to make room for the kingdom of our Father and His Son. (The Kingdom of God is within you.) One sentence, one thought planted deep in the heart of a person can do more positive destruction followed by a healthy healing and building than the largest bomb mankind can invent.

Personally, if I had the choice of developing bigger bombs to blow up countries so that we can "rebuild" them or take these sentences and plant them into hearts like fruit-bearing seeds, there really would be no choice. A powerful healthy thought planted into the heart of a human being is MUCH more powerful than all the armies in the world combined.

I realize that most people reading these words will only read them (myself included), let them echo around in the mind for a few moments, then Satan, the god of the air will come and snatch them away. But every now and then, one of these seeds drops into the heart of a person and a miracle comes forth, power comes forth that transforms entire communities or countries. May one of these sticks of dynamite written by Jackie bring forth such fruit in someone's life today.

For a word to truly be effective in bringing about change in the world, it must go from the mind to the heart and then to the feet. Lord Jesus, let it be. Gary Amirault, editor

(Now don't just quickly read these words, ponder over them, meditate on them, let one of them get a hold of you and not let you go. Write one on a sticky note and put it on your computer or mirror. Turn one into a screen saver.)

Remember: Plant a word in the mind, and you will reap an act. Plant the act and you will reap a habit. Plant a habit and you will reap a character. Plant a character and you will reap a nature. Plant a nature and you will reap a destiny.

Pastor's Punch Lines (Split-Second Sermons) (Part 2)

HOW YOU BELIEVE GOD PERCEIVES PEOPLE WILL DETERMINE HOW YOU RESPOND TO THEM.

You are a better preacher of the gospel than John the Baptist since the least in the Kingdom is greater than he! You are the city Abraham was looking for with foundations—whose builder and maker is God!

RIGHTEOUSNESS THAT WAS PERFORMANCED-BASED IN THE OLD TESTAMENT LAW IS CALLED A GIFT IN THE NEW COVENANT.

JESUS SAID TO GIVE NO PLACE TO THE DEVIL AND YET SOME PEOPLE BUILD HIM A MANSION.

WHEN YOU LEAD MEN INTO THE PROMISED LAND, FOCUS THEIR ATTENTION ON THE FRUIT, NOT THE GIANTS.

THE HOLY SPIRIT COMING UPON YOU IS FOR WITNESSING---WITHIN YOU IS FOR FRUIT.

THE WORD OF GOD IS A PERSON---WHEN YOU READ IT, DO YOU SEE WORDS OR DO YOU SEE HIM?

If your thoughts were His thoughts, your ways would be His ways.

YOU ARE AN ABLE MINISTER OF THE NEW COVENANT---NOT OF THE LETTER THAT KILLS, BUT THE SPIRIT THAT GIVES LIFE! JESUS LIVED HIS LIFE FOR YOU—THEN HE GAVE HIS LIFE TO YOU—NOW HE WANTS TO LIVE HIS LIFE THROUGH YOU!

The Scripture says to feed the sheep, not beat the sheep.

JESUS DEALT WITH A TOUGH CROWD---PRO GOD BUT ANTI-CHRIST!

WE WASTE MOST OF OUR TIME TRYING TO GET GOD TO DO SOMETHING HE HAS ALREADY DONE--- OR PRAYING FOR GOD TO DO SOMETHING HE TOLD US TO DO.

DON'T FEAR DEATH---YOUR KILLING IS NOT IN YOUR FUTURE, YOUR KILLING IS IN YOUR PAST.
